The time I worked for a Digital Payments company

From June through December 2021, I was the Senior Manager of Communications for Sightline Payments, out of Las Vegas, NV. Upon my hire, there was no formal corporate communications function and I was brought in to build it from the ground up.

I had accountabilities to External Communications and Public Relations, Organic Social Media, and Internal Communications

 

External Communications and Public relations

Some highlights from the largest aspect of my remit:

  • Drafted all press releases and lead the distribution process both internally and externally, coordinating with Sightline stakeholders, external agencies, and partner/client organizations

  • Bolstered Sightline thought leadership content through blogs; newsletters; op-eds; quotes for media placements; responses to questions from reporters and news outlets; scripts for keynotes, panels, webinars, and podcasts; and website copy

  • My writing was published in major industry publications such as Gambling Insider, CasinoBeats, CDC Gaming Reports, and SBC; as well as in renowned finance publications like PYMNTS and Payment Expert

  • Produced content for all corporate award submissions. My applications earned victories at the Global Gaming Awards, Deloitte’s Fast500 Fastest Growing Companies in North America, and the SBC Awards North America

  • Created digital communications strategies for Sightline’s participation in industry conferences like the 2021 Global Gaming Expo and in public awareness campaigns like Responsible Gaming Education Week 2021


Organic social media

Managed Sightline’s social media channels including:

  • daily management of and all copywriting for its corporate LinkedIn and Twitter pages and the strategy and management and copywriting for the CEO’s social media presence.

  • Sightline’s LinkedIn achieved: a 135% increase in organic reach, a 72% increase in organic engagement, and a 50% organic increase in total followers.

  • Sightline’s Twitter achieved: a 961% increase in organic reach and a 916% increase in organic engagement


internal communications

  • Provided guidance to Sightline executives on social media usage, and wrote and published copy on their profiles. Created best practices for staff to follow when attending events or for promoting company news

  • Distributed internal communications to educate staff about industry news and Sightline developments and to announce human resources initiatives. Contributed to communications briefs for Board Of Directors meetings and for CEO-led Town Hall meetings
